Ten Thousand Villages is a non-profit organization run by the Central Committee of the Mennonite Church and was founded sixty years ago by a woman living and working in Puerto Rico who began to sell needlework products in her home state of Pennsyvania. It has grown into a program offering beautiful objects from all over the world and carefully oversees the fair trade conditions in both the purchase and sale of each item.
