Hello Newsletter Readers!

As Autumn is upon us Granny Look thought for this newsletter she would research fun things and happenings for Halloween, cosy Autumn evenings indoors for your grandchildren and their friends - sleepovers are an excellent autumn activity and some outside fun if the weather still permits!

HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS

There are a host of happenings for Halloween all around England - you'll find one near you or your grandchildren.

There's a Halloween Grotto, Activity Week and a Friday Fright Night on the 26th October so go to www.birdworld.co.uk - click on the pumpkin for details - you'll also be able to see the many other attractions Birdworld has to offer.

Planning a Halloween Party for your grandchildren? at www.partygameideas.com you'll find lots of suggestions for games, decorations and party supplies.

http://halloweencostumes4kids.com has a great and varied selection of not only Halloween Costumes but lots of other costumes for kids (including babies/toddlers!!) to wear for fun or on special occasions.

SLEEPOVER PARTIES

When it's colder, wetter and darker nights, Autumn is a great time for your grandchildren to have sleepovers - so here are some of Granny Look's suggestions to make these exciting!

If your grandchildren are aged 8-11 years they could be lucky enough to secure a place on the last available date for Sleepovers at Kew Gardens this year - Saturday 27th October. Camp fires, storytelling, music and a Midnight Ramble to discover the plants, birds, insects and night life at Kew. http://www.kew.org/events/sleepover has full details and a booking form.

Never held a sleepover before? You'll find lots of help and advice on Do's and Don'ts for planning your grandchild's first sleepover at http://www.helium.com/tm/237780

The Great Little Trading Company also has some ideas for sleepovers in the form of beds, clocks, lights etc. for all age groups. Look them up at www.gltc.co.uk - click on bedtime and then sleepovers.

Before they get to the "sleep" part you will need to keep your grandchildren and their friends occupied! Look in www.grannylook.com Home Page, Indoor Activities section on sleepovers . Take a look at www.snugglesac.co.uk for ready beds and other comfortable sleepover solutions. www.sleepovercompany.com and www.party411.com/gameguide-sleepovers.html are also full of ideas!

BIKES SCOOTERS AND SKATES

If the weather allows this is a good time for your grandchildren to have some fun in fresh Autumn air, and at the same time get some exercise, so Granny Look has been searching for what's available in bikes, skooters and and all kinds of skates.

www.skatehut.co.uk has a great selection of scooters for all ages and abilities - they also have ice skates, skateboards and lots of other "mobile" things for kids.

As Granny Look is constantly researching for you and your grandchildren you will find lots of information on www.grannylook.com Outdoor Activities section on bikes, scooters and skates.

Granny Look thinks it is very important for you to stress upon the grandchildren about safety when riding their bikes so look at http://www.ibike.org/education and then click on Bicycle Safety Education for lots of help with teaching your grandchildren, whatever their age, how to be safe and responsible bike riders.

Bye for now.
