Hello Newsletter Readers!

Christmas is coming and Granny Look is sure you and your grandchildren will be starting to think about all things Christmassy - fantastic food, great gifts, grottos, fairies, Father Christmas and who knows what else, so Granny Look has been researching some ideas for filling tummies, filling stockings and fun-filled days!

Although Christmas is not far away, Granny Look has not forgotten that November 22nd is Thanksgiving Day. Many of her newsletter readers will be celebrating either with friends or family - perhaps not even in their own country - so she has chosen a few things to help their party along.

THINGS TO DO FOR THANKSGIVING

www.holidays.net/thanksgiving/ has art, crafts, recipes and many more suggestions to help your Thanksgiving Day go with a swing. Click on the first heading to read all about it.

Maybe you don't have your family or grandchildren around on Thanksgiving Day - but it's still a day to celebrate so have a look at http://fun.familyeducation.com/ Once into the site there are two headings for Thanksgiving, covering all aspects of this special day.

Once the dinner is over keep the grandchildren busy whilst you and your family or friends relax a little. Click on the first item at www.dltk-holidays.com/thanksgiving/printables.htm for a great selection of printables, not only for the grandchildren to do but for you to prepare beforehand.

CHRISTMAS COOKING

Have a little fun - get the grandchildren involved in some Thanksgiving and Christmas cooking! At www.myhouseandgarden.com you'll find loads of recipes for food with a Christmas connection - the grandchildren will love making carrot stars and cherry hearts - and there's also lots more interesting ideas for gifts, books and toys. There's also lots of information on other festive times still to come, i.e New Year.

Bake a Personalised Christmas cake especially for your grandchildren - or help them to bake one as a present - maybe for grandparents they don't see too often. Look at www.kidsandcooking.co.uk Scroll to Cooking with Kids and click on Christmas Cooking with your Kids. You'll find a recipe for Mini Christmas Cakes which, once ready, they will be able to decorate exactly as they want - and have lots of fund doing it! There are also recipes for baking other presents!

At www.fabulousfoods.com/holidays/xmas/cookiepops.html there are fun recipes for you and your grandchildren to make together as well as details of a Kids Party Cook Book (a gift idea for Christmas?) and easy to make holdiay crafts and home made gifts.

If you think you may have a budding chef among your grandchildren help them to develop by learning now and how. Go to www.splatcooking.co.uk Click on the first heading and read about their cooking parties, schools, recipes, equipment and much more to make cooking fun while learning! Check out the Events and Festivals section as well!

BOOK EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS

There are lots of exciting and different events going on leading up to Christmas - some free, some of which must be booked - too many to show in this newsletter - so Granny Look has chosen a selection which she thinks will be fun for everyone.

Check out www.kew.org - click on the first heading and then "What's on" to see what's happening in and around the Gardens this Christmas. There's Stir-up Sunday (making puddings!), an ice rink, wine-tasting and even a "Plantomime"!

Maybe you are visiting the U.K. for Christmas and want to do something special for your grandchildren. Why not enjoy a Victorian Christmas experience together - at http://visitbristol.co.uk/site/things-to-do/a-victorian-christmas-p69611 you can read how Christmas was celebrated in Victorian times - then take the grandchildren to visit - Christmas and history all in one place!

www.thisistheatre.com has a list of pantos and shows throughout the U.K.

Stay overnight wherever you're going for a special treat. www.grannylook.com has details of child-friendly hotels, restaurants and airlines, as well as lots of ideas for days out, toys, games, activities and not forgetting those all important Pantos, Shows and Theatre productions - it's all there!.

Will it be a white Christmas? You can make sure by taking your grandchildren on an enchanted forest adventure - where snow is guaranteed throughout December! At www.bewilderwood.co.uk if you click on their Christmas leaflet you can read all about the forest dwellers - including Father Christmas - but you have to book so don't delay.

AND FINALLY....A FEW OTHER FUN ITEMS AND FILLERS.....

Nearly everyone, grandparents included, loves the excitement of waiting to open that little daily window on an Advent Calendar. At www.strictlychristmas.com you'll find probably the largest selection of Advent Calendar's anywhere - even chocolate - as well as cards, wreaths etc.

Save time and energy by shopping on line for your stocking fillers! www.letterbox.co.uk has a varied selection of all things for stockings at all different prices, as well as special offers, discounts and Christmas specials.

Granny Look will be back later in November with lots more ideas, happenings, and gift suggestions.
