Hello to all readers!

With this first newsletter of the new year, Granny Look would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope that 2008 will bring everything you wish for you, your grandchildren and your families.

BEAT THE BOREDOM AND BLUES!

January is the time when the grandchildren have played with their new toys, eaten all their goodies, can't play out because of the weather, been to the panto and generally become bored! Granny Look has some suggestions to try to beat the boredom!

Go to www.thelittleangeltheatre.com to find details of their "Puppet Pantos" for all ages from toddlers upwards. Original music, rod puppetry, theatrical wizardry and much more make this a magical production for all the family, which runs until the 27th January.

For older children (7 upwards) there's the Almeida Theatre's first Christmas family production, which uses actors and dancers to convey the world of Marianne Dreams - an adaptation of a children's classic by Catherine Storr. You'll find full information at www.almeida.co.uk

There's a new children's movie out on general release - have a look at www.alvinandthechipmunksmovie.com where you and the grandchilren can read the synopsis and get details of where it is showing at a cinema near you or them!

Lift the blues with the lighthearted, fun film The Bee Movie. Released in November, the grandchildren probably won't have seen it with all the pre-Christmas excitement, so check it out at www.beemovie.com
