Dear Readers,

Time's up! Last letter from America for a while!

Granny Look returns to Europe soon.... sad to leave LaLa land, but she returns with interesting tips, trends and facts for Grandparents and Grandkids to learn about in this great country

Let's start with ways in which children can learn a little about the USA, it's Government.. and of course the Elections.... taking place later this year, "The American Way..." Granny Look has some websites for you to look at together with the children or grandchildren.

http://www.treas.gov/kids
http://bensguide.gpo.gov/9-12/election/index.html
http://www.kids.gov/

Granny Look was pleased to see parents were using www.kidsconnect.com. A great way to keep in touch with the children if and when they get into difficulties.

A cool site is www.kids.us. Kids can explore, discover, learn, about Space Stuff, Hurricanes, Tornadoes and some of the other hazards the States has to deal with!

Informative facts to read about with the kids and that's only in the Science category! Check out the other categories too, "Our world" "Arts and Entertainment" "Fun and Games" and "Other Cool Stuff."

A favourite is www.kidzworld.com. It has facts and figures relating to American History including " Black History Month" which takes place now in February and was established in 1926. The "Black History Month" remembers those African Americans who have made so many contributions to help shape the country as it is today... A little history will bring you to understand what's happening today in the US.

Get information about your favourite US State by logging on to http://us.kids.us. The kids will love it!

One of the latest websites Granny Look found on her trip to the States is a guide to a few more www's to look at. http://www.surfnetkids.com/ is full of stories you will enjoy reading.

So long and be ready for March's letter all about Easter.
